No Corps Member Died In Kogi, Bayelsa State Governorship Elections -NYSC

The National Youth Service Corps, NYSC management says no corps member died during the Kogi or Bayelsa state governorship elections which held last Saturday, November 16th.  According to the press release : The attention of the Management of the National Youth Service Corps has been drawn to a story making the rounds, purporting that a Corps Member serving in Kogi State, deployed for November 16 gubernatorial electoral duty was eliminated by some political thugs in the course of the national assignment. The Management of the Scheme wishes to emphatically state that nothing of such happened. No Corps Member died or sustained injury either in Kogi or Bayelsa States during the said gubernatorial elections. Tesla unveils long-awaited 'Cybertruck,' 'unbreakable' windows shatter during demonstration.

The Cybertruck is made of a heavy-duty exterior shell made from "ultra-hard 30X cold-rolled stainless steel" and armored glass, according to Tesla. The demonstration of the Tesla Cybertruck's unbreakable windows did not go well as planned after one assistant throws a steel ball bearing at the truck, only to see the armored glass shatter. CEO Elon Musk  unveiled the $39,900 truck in Los Angeles on Thursday , and he got Tesla's lead designer, Franz von Holzhausen, to test the left-side windows by throwing a silver metal ball at them. After von Holzhausen smashed the front-left window with ease, Musk uttered: "Oh my f---ng God. Well, maybe that was a little too hard." Von Halzhausen then tested the back-left window, which also smashed. "Room for improvement," Musk joked. "We threw wrenches, we threw literally the kitchen sink at the glass and it didn't break. For some reason it broke now … I don't know why."

Queens' College Parents -Teachers Association (PTA) Condemns Harassment of Security Guard

  The Queen’s College Parents-Teachers Association (PTA)  has condemned the girl’s mother who was shown in the video on social media harassing a security guard of the school because her daughter was disciplined. In a release statement, the Caretaker Committee of the College’s PTA said the association was in support of the school management’s position on discipline.The statement reads: “We condemn in totality the action of the parent. We stand by the management in enforcing discipline in the school. “However, the Committee will invite both the parent and the student with a view to ameliorating the situation and preventing a repeat of similar occurrence.                                                                   Hope Olusegun Aroke Nigerian Anti- Graft Agency , Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is investigating a $1 million mega scam inside a Lagos prison. Hope Olusegun Aroke—convicted of internet fraud in 2012 and sentenced to 24 years at the Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison—used a "network of accomplices" and suspected corrupt prison officials to commit fraud and enjoy greater freedoms, according to BBC News. After a preliminary investigation, the EFCC found that Aroke was able to carry out his online scam from prison with easy access to the internet and his phone. Correctional officers responsible for guarding Jeffrey charged with falsifying records

The indictment charged two correctional officers, Tova Noel and Michael Thomas  with making false records and conspiring to defraud the United States.  A grand jury indictment made public Tuesday accused the guards  of neglecting their duties by failing to perform checks on Epstein every half hour, as required, and of  falsifying  log entries . The charges against the officers are the first in connection with the Mr. Epstein's death in August at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York. The city’s medical examiner ruled Jeffrey Epstein death a suicide. Attorney General William Barr has said investigators found “serious irregularities” at the jail and the FBI’s investigation had been slowed because some witnesses were uncooperative. He had been placed on suicide watch after he was found July 23 on the floor of his cell with a bruised neck.                                                 Governor Yahaya Bello                 The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared incumbent Governor Yahaya Bello winner of the 2019 governorship election in Kogi state. Bello scored a total of 406,222 votes to defeat his closest rival and candidate of the PDP, Engr Musa Wada who polled a total of 189,704 votes.     INEC’s Returning Officer for the election and Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, Professor Ibrahim Garuba, said Bello had been declared winner, having scored the highest number of votes during the poll conducted on Saturday. EFCC Arrests Two Brother For Impersonating Police, Extorting Fraudsters.

The siblings – Olatunji Joe Beyioku (35) and Oluwayomi Beyioku (37) - were arrested in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, on Friday, November 15, 2019, during a sting operation. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission [ EFCC], Ibadan zonal office, has arrested two blood brother for extorting internet fraudsters with promises to shield them from possible arrest by the Commission. EFCC operatives had embarked on discreet investigations into the activities of the suspects who claimed to be spy police officers with the rank of DSP and snitch on the internet fraudsters. The zonal office in a statement on Friday said it was discovered that the suspects only exposed those who failed to meet their demands while enriching themselves, sabotaging the commission’s efforts.
