DALLAS – A  key witness in the murder trial of a white female Dallas police officer who fatally shot her black neighbor has been killed in a shooting according to The Dallas Morning News. The newspaper reported that authorities said Joshua Brown was shot and killed Friday in Dallas. The 28-year-old Brown lived in the same apartment complex as Officer Amber Guyger and Botham Jean when Guyger shot Jean to death in September 2018. Brown testified in Guyger’s trial about the night that Jean was killed, saying he was in a hallway on the fourth floor, where he and Jean lived. Court grants Sowore 100m Naira bail with 2 sureties in like sum.

The Federal High Court in Abuja Nigeria, on Friday, granted bail to the co-ordinator of #RevolutionNow protest, Mr. Omoyele Sowore and co-defendant Olawale Bakare alias 'Mandate'. Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu also prohibited  them from addressing any rally pending the conclusion of their trial on charges of treasonable felony.  Sowore is also barred from traveling out of Abuja and the second defendant Bakare out of Osun State, during the trial. Justice Ojukwu granted bail to Sowore in the sum of N100m with two sureties in like sum. The sureties who must be resident in Abuja must also have landed assets worth the bail sum in Abuja, and they are to keep the original title documents of the assets with the court. The judge also ordered him to deposit the sum of N50m in the account of the court as security. She granted bail to the second defendant in the sum of N50m with one surety. South Africa pledge to stop xenophobic attacks

Nigerian President  Muhammadu Buhari    has met his South African counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa, weeks after xenophobic assault in Johannesburg set off alarm between South Africa and other neighbors, especially Nigeria. Nigerians were among those targeted during the attacks which resulted in the death of about 10 people and led to hundreds of people been air lifted in September. On Thursday, amid warm smiles and a joint commitment to strengthen bilateral relations, Buhari said the attacks were "unacceptable" and called for preventive measures. Abdulrasheed Maina The Department of State Services (DSS), announced that the former Chairman of the Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT), Abdulrasheed Maina is under arrest. In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Public Relations Officer of the agency, Peter Afunanya, said the arrest was made at the Pennsylvania Avenue Hotel, Utako, Abuja , Nigeria on September 30. According to Afunanya,  “Maina was arrested in company of his 20-year-old son, Faisal Abdulrasheed Maina, who  tried to resist the arrest. “The lad even pulled a pistol against the security agents involved in the operation,” the statement read. “He was, however, disarmed and arrested. He is a final year student at the Canadian University of Dubai where he is studying Telecoms Engineering”. According to the agency, items recovered from the suspects include a pistol with live ammunition, a bullet proof Range Rover SUV, a BMW Saloon car, foreign currencies, a Phantom 7 drone and sensitive documents....

Amber Guyger found guilty of murder for killing her neighbor.

Amber Guyger was found guilty of murder on Tuesday for fatally shooting her neighbor, Botham Jean, after thinking he was an intruder when she said she mistakenly entered his apartment. She faces a maximum of life in prison. Guyger was off duty but in uniform when she shot twice at Jean on Sept. 6, 2018, just before 10 p.m., striking him in the chest. She had worked a 13-1/2-hour shift on the Dallas Police Department's crime response team that day and parked on the fourth floor of the complex's garage. She lived on the third floor, and Jean, a 26-year-old accountant and native of the island nation of St. Lucia, lived directly above her. The two did not know one another. The bureau, in a statement signed on Monday by the Public Relations Officer, Peter Afunaya, argued that Mr Onumah was only engaged in an interaction during which an act of his capable of undermining public order and national security was explained to him. “The Department of State Services ( DSS) wishes to make clarifications regarding media reports that Dr Chido Onumah was arrested by the Service. Teodorin Obiang Nguema A collection of luxury cars seized from Equatorial Guinea’s vice president, Teodorin Obiang Nguema, will be auctioned off in  Switzerland  and are evaluated at 18.5m Swiss francs ($18.7m). “This is an exceptional sale,” Philip Kantor, of British auctioneers Bonhams, told AFP. “It’s a private collection of supercars, with very low mileage.” Among the cars to go under the hammer at a Geneva golf club on Sunday are seven Ferraris, three Lamborghinis, five Bentleys, a Maserati and a McLaren. The most expensive lots are a Lamborghini Veneno Roadster, valued at between 4.8m and 5.7m euros ($5.2-6.2m) and a yellow Ferrari hybrid at 2.4-2.6m euros.
