FBI Prevents Election Day Attack Planned by ISIS-Linked Afghan Man

The FBI has successfully thwarted a planned Election Day attack in the United States, allegedly orchestrated by an Afghan man with links to ISIS.

The suspect, who reportedly intended to target polling stations, had been under surveillance by U.S. intelligence agencies. The FBI’s operation highlights ongoing concerns about foreign terrorist threats as the country prepares for upcoming elections.
Authorities believe the suspect was motivated by extremist ideologies and had been in contact with ISIS affiliates. The FBI is working with other agencies to investigate further and ensure no additional threats are linked to this case.

Illegal miners responsible for Ibadan explosion, says Makinde

  The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has criticized  illegal miners for the explosion that rocked the Bodija area of Ibadan, the state capital on Tuesday. Makinde, who visited the scene of the explosion Tuesday night, said preliminary investigations by security agencies revealed that the explosion caused by explosive devices stored by illegal miners. He also said though investigations were still ongoing, anyone found culpable would be brought to book. “Preliminary investigations by the security agencies revealed that illegal miners occupying one of the houses in Bodija had stored explosive devices there which caused the blast. The investigations are ongoing. All those found culpable for this will be brought to book,” he said.
