Former Husband Of Ex-Minister Diezani Madueke Asks Court To Stop Her From Using His Name

Retired Rear Admiral Alison Madueke has petitioned the Lagos State High Court in Igbosere to stop his ex-wife, former Petroleum Minister Diezani Alison-Madueke, from using his surname.
He requested the court to order Diezani to revert to her maiden name, Agama, arguing that her continued use of his surname amid corruption allegations could harm his reputation and lead to mistaken liability. The couple married in 1999 and separated in 2015.
Diezani filed for divorce in 2021, which was granted in 2022. Despite the dissolution, Diezani continues to use his name, which Madueke finds embarrassing. He instructed his lawyers to request Diezani to stop using his name, but she has not complied.

Illegal miners responsible for Ibadan explosion, says Makinde

  The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has criticized  illegal miners for the explosion that rocked the Bodija area of Ibadan, the state capital on Tuesday. Makinde, who visited the scene of the explosion Tuesday night, said preliminary investigations by security agencies revealed that the explosion caused by explosive devices stored by illegal miners. He also said though investigations were still ongoing, anyone found culpable would be brought to book. “Preliminary investigations by the security agencies revealed that illegal miners occupying one of the houses in Bodija had stored explosive devices there which caused the blast. The investigations are ongoing. All those found culpable for this will be brought to book,” he said.
