Nollywood Actor, Fadeyi Oloro Is Dead



Veteran Nollywood actor, Ojo Arowosafe, aka Fadeyi Oloro, has died after a lenghty illness at the age of 66 on Tuesday.

Confirming his death Tuesday night, actor and comedian, Bayegun Oluwatoyin aka Woli Arole, shared the news via his Instagram account saying, “So happy I reached out to you sir, so happy we played our part, so happy we laughed together, so happy we were able to show our support. Rest in Peace the Legend ‘Fadeyi Oloro’.

“Let’s check up on people when they are alive, Let’s show love when people can feel. Let’s help when it can be seen.”

The Ekiti State-born actor, who rose to was popular during the 1980s and 1990s for his notorious antagonistic character of a dreaded ‘Fadeyi Oloro'.

The Yoruba movie icon had last month, through his son on an Instagram live session with popular OAP, Daddy Freeze, solicited Nigerians for help after the actor was served a six-month eviction notice over unpaid rent.

Eventually, a United Kingdom based Nigerian pastor, Tobi Adegboyega, of Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church, donated N3million for Arowosafe’s treatment and unpaid bills.

Ojo was born on September 15, 1957 in Igbara Odo, present-day Ekiti State, and became a household name during the cinematic generation for his antagonistic roles in Yoruba movies backed by brilliant  recitation of chants and incantations.
