ATLANTA : Music Midtown to require vaccinations or negative virus test

Music Midtown has announced on its social media accounts  that all who attend the festival will need to be fully vaccinated or have proof of a negative COVID-19 test.

“For the safety of our patrons and our staff is our number one priority. As such, a full COVID-19 vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result will be required to attend Music Midtown 2021,” the festival said.

Attendees who are not fully vaccinated will be required to have a negative COVID-19 test result within 72 hours of attending Music Midtown. Attendees will be required each day to bring a printed copy of a vaccine card, vaccine record or their negative test results.

Music Midtown is scheduled for Sept. 18-20 at Piedmont Park. Maroon 5, Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers and 21 Savage are among the headliners. Megan Thee Stallion, Jack Harlow and Machine Gun Kelly are also featured among the festival’s 30+ artists and bands.

Protest Erupts in Abuja Over Demolition of Homes by FCT Minister Wike

  Residents of Ruga, a settlement along Airport Road in Abuja, staged a protest on Friday against the demolition of their homes by the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike. The demolition was part of the minister’s initiative, *Operation Sweep*, aimed at clearing areas within the capital deemed as nuisances and hotspots for criminal activities. The protest was led by prominent lawyer and activist Deji Adeyanju, alongside Vincent Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMark. They accused Wike of carrying out the demolitions with malicious intent, claiming the task force destroyed numerous homes and property worth millions of naira. Adeyanju expressed concern for the displaced residents, many of whom had fled conflict zones in northern Nigeria, including Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe states.   Super Eagles interim coach, Austin Eguavoen, has announced a 23-man squad for Nigeria’s upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Rwanda and Benin.
