New York City Funeral Homes Overwhelmed By Coronavirus Death Toll.

Hospitals used refrigerated tractor trailers to store multiple bodies, Crematoriums have been backed up and Funeral directors across the city have run out of space. Police were called to a Brooklyn neighborhood on Wednesday after a funeral home overpowered by the coronavirus death used rented trucks to store dozens of bodies on ice. A passerby complained about the smell, officials said. The Brooklyn borough president, Eric Adams, went to the scene on Wednesday evening. Buhari Extends Lagos, Ogun, FCT Lockdown By Seven Days, Authorizes 8.00 p.m to 6.00 a.m Curfew

                              President Muhammadu Buhari Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday extended the lockdown in Lagos, Ogun and   The Federal Capital Territory ,  Abuja by a week to stop COVID -19 Community Spread. “The lockdown in the FCT, Lagos & Ogun States shall subsist remain in place until these new ones come into effect on Saturday, 2nd May 2020 at 9 am,” Buhari said in his nationwide broadcast. There will be a national curfew from 8 pm to 6 am.  In addition, he said that the situation in Kano State required total lockdown.

Gov. Kemp Announces Plans To Partly Reopen State Amid The Coronavirus Pandemic.

Kemp  The Georgia Department of Public Health now reports there are 20,166 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the state. 3,885 people remain hospitalized and the death toll in the state has risen to 818. The numbers were released Tuesday at 7 p.m. The most cases, with 2,206, are in Fulton County, followed by Dekalb County with 1,563 and Dougherty with 1,456. Meanwhile, Kemp joined his fellow Republican governors from South Carolina and Tennessee in announcing partial openings this week.  But many local leaders across the state said that they were  caught off guard  by Kemp's announcement, with some calling the decision "reckless" and "irresponsible" as they advised residents to continue sheltering in place.

Trump To Halt All Immigration Into U.S Over Coronavirus

US president says he will sign an order suspending immigration to protect jobs in the country as the coronavirus spreads. "In light of the attack from the Invisible Enemy, as well as the need to protect the jobs of our GREAT American Citizens, I will be signing an Executive Order to temporarily suspend immigration into the United States!" Trump tweeted. The suspension of all immigration would serve as an extension on the travel restrictions the Trump administration has already declared on some countries in Europe, China, Canada, Mexico, Iran and Nigeria.

                                Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili Former Minister of Education, Dr. Obiageli Ezekwesili, has said that Africa should be paid compensation from China, following China's failure to    contain the spread of the virus. She said the COVID-19 pandemic has worsened the conditions of the Africans.  She added that the continent’s economic gains had been spoilt since the global crisis.  The former Vice President for the Africa Region at the World Bank noted that although there were calls for voluntary international aid to support the continent, “this is far from the best solution.” According to her, it is time to make offending rich countries pay the poor ones a global risk burden tax for delaying their rise out of poverty.                    Inspector Taloju Martins The Police officer attached to Ago Palace Way Division in Lagos seen in a viral video counting his loot from extortion has been arrested by the Command. Inspector Taloju Martins’ escapade was posted on the internet where he was seen counting money alleged to be a bribe he collected from one of those he arrested illegally.  The money was a ‘ransom’ paid by an unidentified motorist to free his vehicle. The motorist had allegedly violated the lockdown order of the government to curb the  transmission of coronavirus in the state. New York officials say that Hart Island, which for about 150 years has been used as funerary grounds for those who died unclaimed, will now also be used for unclaimed coronavirus victims. New York City authorities say only bodies that haven’t been claimed after a couple of weeks will be buried – and they were doing so to help open up space in morgues for more dead people. Generally, bodies are kept in the morgue for about two months before being buried, but now the city will move unclaimed bodies to Hart Island after two weeks.                                                                       ...

The IRS is using 2019 tax returns to determine eligibility or 2018 returns for those who haven't filed for 2019 yet. College Kids:  If someone claims you as a dependent on their taxes, you won't get your own check. Parents will get an extra $500 payment per child, but that's ONLY for kids under 17. The minister, who made this known in a statement, said that the National Frequency Management Council (NFMC), “of which I am the Chairman, has not deliberated on or released any bulk frequency spectrum for the deployment of 5G.” “As part of the study trial process, I directed the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to ensure that a team of experts, security agencies and other stakeholders fully participate in the trial process and my office also invited these agencies to participate in the trial,” the statement read. The Cat Is The Third Animal To Test Positive For COVID-19 In Hong Kong.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) proposed,  if you suspect you have coronavirus or tested positive for the virus, it is recommended you  keep your distance  from your cat or dog, as you would any other human being. A cat has tested positive for the coronavirus in Hong Kong after its owner was confirmed positive.  T he city’s Agricultural and Fisheries department said that the animal has not shown any signs of the disease.  Specimen  from the cat’s mouth, nose and rectum tested positive for the coronavirus.

U.S. Embark On Evacuation Of Citizens From Nigeria Over COVID-19 Pandemic.

The United States Mission in Nigeria has announced the initiation to  evacuate its citizens from Nigeria over COVID-19  widespread.  Germany, Israel, and France evacuated their nationals following the rising cases of coronavirus disease in the country. The Embassy confirmed the development Monday night on its official Twitter handle, @US Mission Nigeria. It stated that multiple emergency flights departing from Lagos and Abuja had been confirmed for this week. The mission urged Americans booked for the flight not to come to the airport until they had been contacted by officials. The Twitter post read, "The U.S. Consulate in Lagos has confirmed multiple emergency flights for this week departing from Lagos and Abuja. Please do not come to the airport until we have contacted you directly. Please shelter in place and await further information."
