Breaking: NUC Ends Mass Communication Degrees From Nigerian Universities


Mass Communication Degree has been scaled down in Nigeria institutions by the National Universities CommissionNUC.
According to the NUC, Mass Communication has been dissociated into seven distinct  academic programs  in order to meet present demand.
The commission said that the new development takes effect from 2020 admissions into Nigerian universities.
In a chat  with journalists in Abuja on Thursday, NUC’s Executive Secretary, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, listed the seven new courses under the new Programmes/Departments, to be domiciled in a Faculty / School / College of Communication and Media Studies as:
  • Journalism & Media Studies
  • Public Relations
  • Advertising
  • Broadcasting
  • Film & Multi-Media Studies
  • Development of Communication Studies
  • Information & Media Studies.
